School Counselor - EMT Training Program (Full-Time Summer)

CERT, LLC is seeking a School Counselor to support our summer EMT training academies. This position combines student administration with student support services, ensuring participants remain organized, compliant, and supported throughout the program.

This role serves as the primary point of contact for student-related matters and works closely with instructors and program leadership to promote student success, address concerns, and ensure completion of all program requirements, including documentation and clinical placements.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Documentation & Records:
  • Collect and track required student paperwork and program forms.
  • Ensure all required signatures and documentation are completed and properly filed.
  • Maintain organized student records throughout the duration of the program.

Clinical Rotation Coordination:
  • Coordinate and schedule student clinical rotations.
  • Communicate clinical placement details and expectations to students.
  • Track completion of required clinical hours and documentation.

Student Compliance:
  • Monitor completion of required forms, background checks, and other program requirements.
  • Follow up with students who have incomplete documentation.

Student Support & Counseling:
  • Serve as a supportive resource for students navigating academic, personal, or program-related challenges.
  • Conduct informal check-ins with students to monitor progress and well-being.
  • Assist students with time management, organization, and program expectations.
  • Help identify students who may need additional support and escalate concerns to program leadership when appropriate.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and professional learning environment.

Student Communication:
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for student questions and concerns.
  • Communicate important program information, expectations, and deadlines.

Attendance & Program Tracking:
  • Assist with monitoring student attendance and participation.
  • Identify attendance or engagement concerns early and support intervention efforts.

Parent / Guardian Communication:
  • Communicate with parents or guardians (for minor students) regarding documentation, expectations, and student progress when appropriate.

What This Role Does Not Include:
This position does not include teaching, grading, or running EMT training sessions. It is a student support and administrative coordination role.

Schedule:
Full-time hours during the summer EMT academy sessions, generally 40 hours per week, depending on academy schedules.
